Our sessions are active and goal-oriented. Starting from the initial intake session, we will develop a comprehensive plan to address your specific needs using the best evidence-based therapeutic techniques and approaches available. You will develop new skills in session and practice them during the week. Much of the benefit of therapy comes from work between sessions. Expect to be supported, challenged, and occasionally to laugh – even in anxiety treatment!
The length of treatment varies depending on the person and the condition being treated. Most clients see changes in 12-20 sessions. Some treatments, such as for insomnia, show benefit in 4-6 sessions. Some clients continue working with me for ongoing support to maintain gains from treatment or to explore deeper rooted concerns or goals. We’ll tailor the number and frequency of our meetings to what is appropriate for your goals.
I am not currently in-network with any insurance companies at this time. If you have the Dartmouth College Student Group Health Plan, there are certain provisions that might help you use those insurances to pay directly for my services. Most insurance companies do have out-of-network benefits you can use to obtain partial reimbursement for my services. I can provide a monthly receipt (Superbill) or submit claims directly on your behalf (“courtesy billing”). Either way, reimbursement depends on your specific plan. Check with your insurance company about their specific policies and procedures around reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care.
I accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, debit cards, cash, and check. If you plan to pay with HSA/FSA, debit, cash, or check, I may require a credit card to be on file as a backup form of payment.
Yes, I see clients in New Hampshire and across more than 40 states through the Psypact authorization process. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom to conduct telehealth sessions. Telehealth allows us to work together even if you are not near my Bedford, NH, office, and can also allow us to work in your home or other locations, which has significant benefits for the kinds of exposure-based therapies I use. The states where I can practice include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
